Dr. Eugen Jonas studied and graduated at the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava, and then he passed special exams in psychiatry at the Charles University in Prague.
He worked as a chief physician, district specialist and a forensic expert until his retirement.
When abortions were legalised in Hungary in summer 1956, Dr. Eugen Jonas as a believer and a physician could not agree with it.
Therefore he tried to find a way to prevent the killing of unborn babies.
Abortions carried out by gynecologists all over the world (cca 80 millions per year) are considered murders of conceived embryos in the mother´s womb, as Lord creates the soul of a human being at the moment of conception (to His image and because of His infinite love).
In 1956, August 15, Dr.Jonas discovered his first thesis in the field of natural conception control.
As a believer and worshipper of Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, he devoted his discoveries to Her on the very same day, as it is the Day of Assumption.
The method of Dr. Jonas is based on two independent and separate cycles of fertile days in women. The first one, when the conception occures in 85% of all cases is determined by the biorhythm and calculated at the center. The second cycle of fertile days is dependent on the period.
The developments and results of Dr. Jonas's research have been published in several books and his findings have also been presented at international conferences.
Furthermore, Dr. Eugen Jonas has been nominated twice for a Nobel prize for his work on the Natural conception control (by American scientists in 1970 and by Argentinean scientists in 2000).
Dr. Eugen Jonas lived with his family in Maňa, Slovakia, where he continued to make the calculations for women until his death.
